 | By Numismatic News November 24, 2009 |

Books from Stack’s numismatic library will be sold Jan. 9, 2010, in a George Frederick Kolbe/Fine Numismatic Books auction at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City to be held in conjunction with the New York International Numismatic Convention.
The sale will also feature duplicates from the American Numismatic Society library.
Offered will be 190 lots that cover American coins, medals and tokens, and 210 works on ancient, medieval and modern numismatics.
There are 100 ANS lots listed in a second catalog.
Kolbe notes that the Stack library was assembled over seven decades by the New York numismatic firm founded by brothers Morton and Joseph and carried on by Norman, Benjamin, Harvey, Susan and Lawrence Stack.
For over 50 years, the American portion of the library resided in antique bookcases lining one wall of Harvey Stack’s office and along the opposite wall.
Copies of both catalogs can be reserved by sending $35 to Kolbe at P.O. Drawer 3100, Crestline, CA 92325. Telephone: (909) 338-6527. E-mail GFK@numislit.com. Visit www.numislit.com for details.
