First Spouse Release Dates Set

Last week hobbyists got a look at the designs for the four 2008 First Spouse gold coins. This week the release dates have been revealed by the U.S. Mint.
The Elizabeth Monroe half-ounce gold First Spouse coin will go on sale Feb. 28, roughly two weeks after the Presidential dollar of her husband hits the streets.
The next three follow the same delayed relationship with the Presidential dollar. The Louisa Adams First Spouse coin will go on the market May 29.
The Liberty design for Andrew Jackson will become available Aug. 28 and the Liberty design for Martin Van Buren will go on sale Nov. 26.
Prices and quantities have not been divulged by the Mint, which is keeping an eye on the rocketing price of gold bullion.
