The Mint ran out of tenth-ounce American Eagle gold bullion coins April 23 and suspended sales in order to replenish its supplies.
During the month of April by to the sales suspension it had sold 85,000 pieces. So far in 2013, sales totaled 300,000 pieces.
The Mint noted that demand for the tenth-ounce coin is up 118 percent from last year. Click here for other sales figures.
