Collector holiday season commitment to the basic annual proof and mint sets continues to push the sales totals for the 2010 and 2011 sets to converge.
The 2010 sets were set to go off sales Dec. 30. This report is dated Dec. 19. Demand for other products is not as reliable.
The 2010 uncirculated collector version of the Mount Hood 5-ounce coin passed the 26,000 mark. Only 920 more need to be purchased to achieve a sellout.
Available 2011 5-ounce uncirculated collector coin numbers advanced slightly but remain well short of sellout status. The three available 2011 5-ounce bullion coins showed more life than usual. The Olympic total was up by 800 pieces while the Vicksburg and Chickasaw coins each rose by 1,300.
The silver American Eagle bullion coin looks like it will hit 40 million with next week’s numbers. Commemorative totals below might be final, or they might jiggle a bit next week as accounting adjustments even though sales have now ended.
