A collector is launching a coin show business that will bring new shows to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Bill Green, who started collecting coins in the late 1950s, announced the first new coin show will occur Friday and Saturday, Jan. 4-5, at the Clarion Hotel, Concord, Calif.
The show opens to the public at 10 a.m. each day. Over 30 West Coast dealers will be on hand to buy, sell and trade coins and collectibles. Early Bird dealer badges are available starting Jan. 3.
There will be a second 2013 coin show at the Clarion Hotel on June 28 and 29. Also, Green recently bought the Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, Calif., coin show hosted at the Domain Hotel by longtime coin dealer John McIntosh. The Sunnyvale shows are scheduled March 15-16 and Nov. 15-16. More shows in other locations are planned.
The past eight years Green has organized the Diablo Numismatic Society Contra Costa Coin and Collectibles Show held in mid October.
