What Was That Noise?
April 07, 2008

I am told the power failed in this building Friday night. Those who were in the building heard a noise. The electrical cable shorted out. It was replaced on Saturday, but the server connections were lost.

The connections have just been restored and that puts me a bit behind on my usual Monday routine.

I haven't been able to check the markets yet. What do they call gold withdrawal?

I haven't been able to check other sites that are my morning routine, though I will catch up as soon as I finish this.

Staff normally has a Monday morning meeting and I was contemplating handing out a handwritten list of things that we are working on, but fortunately that has now become unnecessary.

In the wired world, it is amazing what happens when you become unwired. Perhaps that word can become a synonym for "unglued," which was coined in an earlier time.
