How Well Do Cars and Coins Mix?
July 08, 2010
We’ll find out in Iola, Wis., over the next few days as thousands flock to the Iola old Car Show and Swap Meet held on and adjacent to Krause Publications grounds.
The KP book tent is a big draw, where folks can buy gently used books on topics ranging from deer hunting to coins for $5 each.
This year the numismatic division is also selling our new line of Warman’s coin folders, CDs featuring contents from our paper money and coin books and even coins, particularly a silver shilling from Austria that features a Porsche.
I’ve learned over the years that collectors like to collect, and not just one thing. In fact one of our coin experts on staff probably owns more rare comic books than rare coins.
So I won’t be surprised when I see someone walking buy carrying a hubcap for a 1853 Chevy in one hand and a copy of the 2010 North American Coins and Prices in the other.
Diversity. That’s what America is all about.
