Slovakia Goes Euro!
January 15, 2009

The 16 day transitition period for dual circulation of the Euro and the Slovak Korun will soon come to an end, and starting Monday, January 19, all transactions will be only in Euro Currency and coins.

The Coin designs for the bi-metallic high values of 1 and 2 Euro have the double cross set on the middle of three hills. The brass 50, 20 and 10 Euro Cent coins have Bratislava castle and the state emblem. The Copper 1, 2 and 5 Euro Cent pieces have Krivan Peak in the Tatras and the state emblem. A very nicely designed set.
