Why Did Silver Eagle Sales Drop?
September 13, 2012

Sales of American Eagle bullion coins have fallen in 2012 compared to 2011. While on one hand this means the Mint hasn't had to ration the coins this year, on the other hand this raises the question of why the decline?

   Hello Dave !

Also just trying to figure out and speculate on why the decline!  Possibly a host of factors impacting to this result;  economy for one?

Possibly the glut of many versions of the ASE.. Ps, Ss, Ds, Ws and Reverse Ss?  In particular, maybe the five coin set last year??

The dual set this year was perfect in my opinion.. but there are many different ideas, opinions and economic levels out there..  It is one Beautiful

It is one beautiful coin and collectible transition of the Classic Half Dollar.   This lends reason why in my opinion, that there will be no long lasting decline of this series, unless, of course the Mint decides to produce many more multi-sets.

Silver Price is rising!  Is that to continue into next
year?  Who knows?  Possibly the fact that we're unsure what's going to happen to silver is what might initiate it's present decline.

If that's true, how long will it last?

Let's be optimistic! With a new administration, my opinion is that Silver will explode and with our country back on track, the relief of the American Spirit, the happiness and vision of better times,, with our economy turned around.. and moving forward.. We'll buy, sell and trade and our Coinage Hobby will thrive and expand!

God Bless America and In God We Trust.
