Great Britain Honors the Mary Rose on 2-Pound Coin
February 11, 2011

Henry VIII's warship, the Mary Rose is honored on a 2011 2 pound coin on its 500th anniversary of launch.

Famous in its time, but more so, since being found in the 1970s and recovered in the 1980s, and now well preserved in a museum, the Mary Rose has become a well studied resource for the times. Canon, longbows, supplies have all added to the knowledge base of the Royal Navy and live in the early 1500s.

Now she sails again on a nice bi-metallic 2 pound coin.
